Follow safety protocols

Otherwise, it’s best not to visit these locations. In some areas, dine-in services are now allowed, but with limits. Health experts made these protocols along with government officials. Avoid going to crowded indoor spaces

If you need to go outside your house, you should choose outdoor spaces. It’s more difficult for the virus to spread it in an outdoor location. Indoor areas where there are plenty of people, and some aren’t wearing a mask are potential virus spreaders. Several studies have revealed that the most efficient way to spread the virus is through prolonged close contact with another person in an indoor space.

There are places where the governments don’t put too many restrictions on an indoor mass gathering. For instance, bars and restaurants are allowed to operate in full capacity. Even concerts and exhibits are permitted in these places. If you think it’s already safe to go to these events, it’s not. It doesn’t matter if the government already approved them.

Don’t meet up with friends for lunch 

After months of being in isolation, you might already miss your friends. You’ve been in contact with each other only through an online platform. It still feels different from talking to them in person. However, even if you’re already tempted to meet up with him for lunch, you should avoid it. You don’t live in the same household. You don’t know the people your friends have interacted with. Some of them might even be exposed to people who have the virus.

Be patient, and wait for a few more months before you can safely meet with your friends again. Think about your family members at home whom you can infect if you got exposed to your friend who has the virus. Conversely, you might also be asymptomatic, and you can expose your friends and their family members.

Be as quick as you can 

You only have to go out for important reasons. For instance, you have to buy groceries or pay the bills. After you finish these transactions, you should go back home right away. If you need to exercise or go to outdoor locations, it’s understandable if you stay a bit longer.

It helps if you have a to-do list to know where to go as soon as you walk out of your house. You will also avoid doing things that aren’t on your list.

Choose outdoor locations 

If you’re itching to go outside your house, it’s best to be in outdoor spaces. You can go to parks, bike trails, open fields, and botanical gardens. If these places are already open to the public, it’s safe to visit them. It’s easier to socially distance when there’s ample space available. You can also exercise while you’re in an outdoor area. You can even walk your pet. As long as you don’t have close interactions with other people, it’s okay.

Never argue with others

Unfortunately, not everyone believes in the safety measure to fight the coronavirus. Some people are still hesitant to admit that this is the reality. As such, they don’t care about government mandates. Some of them don’t even wear a mask in public. Even if you’re tempted to argue with these people, you shouldn’t do it. There are authorized officials or people in the establishment to deal with them. You already know that these people are at a higher risk of being exposed due to their failure to wear a mask. If you come in close contact with them to argue about their beliefs, you’re exposing yourself. There are other ways to spread awareness about the safety protocols, and the face-to-face argument isn’t one of them.

Choose to stay indoors if positivity rates are increasing 

Before you go out of your house, you need to be updated about your area’s latest infections. If the positivity rate is increasing, it’s a sign that you shouldn’t go out at all. The positivity rate refers to the number of people that someone who tested positive has infected. The ideal number should be below one. If it’s two or more, it means that the virus is still rapidly spreading.

Since you couldn’t go out, you should maximize the availability of online delivery services. You can get what you want without leaving your home. If you need to exercise, there are tutorial videos available online for you to follow. You don’t need outdoor spaces to stay fit.

Try your best to be safe all the time. You might be healthy, and you don’t worry about testing positive. However, you might infect the people you love. When it happens, you will probably blame yourself for being irresponsible.
